Sustainability at the Heart of Our Farm Stay

As an off-grid eco-tourism destination, sustainability is at the core of everything we do—environmentally, socially, and economically

Environmentally Conscious Living

We design every element of our farm stay to reduce impact and celebrate natural systems:

  • Eco-cabins harness rain, snow, and solar power, with 9-star insulation, hydronic heating, and high-efficiency solar energy.
  • worm-based waste system manages human waste naturally, with no pumps or chemicals, and releases clean grey water.
  • Guest waste is carefully sorted: recyclables, food scraps (fed to pigs or composted), and general rubbish. We now visit the tip just once a month in summer.
  • Filtered mineral bore water eliminates the need for plastic bottles, reducing waste by 50% in warmer months.
  • Innovative uses of wool waste from our sheep help suppress weeds, prevent erosion, and enrich our orchard soil.

Smart, Regenerative Farming

Our animals work in harmony with the land:

  • Rotational and companion grazing—cattle, sheep, and chickens—enhance soil health and reduce fertiliser use.
  • mobile chicken caravan fertilises fields naturally.
  • Pigs, like Ms. Penelope and Gingi, close the loop by consuming food scraps.

Community & Connection

We believe in giving back:

  • We sell eggs, garlic, and saffron at local markets and contribute to community gardens and school programs.
  • We host agriculture students for hands-on learning, especially in sheep handling.
  • Every guest is personally welcomed and invited to join a guided farm tour, with 90% choosing to participate.

Energy Efficiency & Innovation

Aside from our 99% reliance on solar panels and battery storage for energy, we rely on header tanks to supply pressurised water using gravity

We continuously improve:

  • Generator use dropped from 200 to just 28 hours last winter.
  • We have trialled biodiesel production from waste oil, reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.

We will continue to investigate small scale turbines to utilise the winds after dark.

A Stay That Gives Back

From future (2026) truffle hunting to saffron picking and interactive animal encounters, we offer immersive experiences that educate, inspire, and delight – a guest favourite.

Our Mission is Simple

Live lightly, host generously, and inspire sustainability in every visitor. What began as a lifestyle choice has become a fulfilling, evolving model of regenerative living and responsible tourism
